Senior Product Designer (m/f/d)

Wien
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your mission

We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our team and take full ownership of design at OPTIMUSE. In this role, you'll work across the entire product — from shaping individual features to defining our design system and product vision. You'll actively shape how we learn from users, partnering closely with product to turn insights into well-crafted interfaces. As the sole designer on a scaling team, you'll be at the center of fast decision and iteration cycles.

Job description

  • Own end-to-end product design across features — flows, interactions, UI, and prototypes.

  • Maintain and evolve the OPTIMUSE design system, ensuring visual and experiential consistency across the product.

  • Contribute to product vision at the macro level, shaping the design language of OPTIMUSE as we scale.

  • Actively shape user research — collaborating on study design, feeding into validation loops, and translating findings into design decisions.

  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and customer success to bridge user needs and product execution.

  • Use AI tools actively as a productivity multiplier — for research synthesis, rapid ideation, prototyping, and iteration.

Your profile

  • 3+ years of professional experience in digital product design, specifically in software or SaaS products.

  • You've worked across more than one digital product and bring cross-context perspective to design decisions — you know what good looks like because you've seen it in different shapes.

  • Hands-on experience owning a design system or contributing significantly to one.

  • Confident shaping research direction — you don't just consume findings, you help design the questions.

  • AI-native workflow: you actively use AI tools as part of your day-to-day design process and can speak to how they've changed the way you work.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities — you've worked in a startup or scale-up and know what that means in practice.

  • Proficiency in our core toolset: Figma, Storybook, and AI-assisted workflows (Claude, Cowork/Code or equivalent).

  • Experience with unmoderated usability testing tools (e.g. Maze, Lyssna) — we're building this practice and looking for someone who can help establish it.

  • Working proficiency in English required. German is nice to have.

Why us?

  • Be the design owner at a company that has found its market and is now scaling — your work shapes a product that real asset managers and building professionals rely on.

  • Work with a talented, international team (~25 people, 10 nationalities) that values craft, collaboration, and moving fast.

  • Modern office in Vienna's 2nd district. We work on site, with home office days possible upon request.

  • Flexible working hours outside of core times — and plenty of ways to recharge, from table tennis to team events and company celebrations.

  • The collectively agreed minimum monthly gross salary for this role is €3,843 based on full-time employment. We offer a clear willingness to pay above — commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and performance. Plus lunch vouchers of €5 per day.
